Hardback small quarto, dustjacket, good condition (in good dustjacket), pictorial cover, full-page colour drawings (including endpapers), light toning reverse side jacket (front flap not price-clipped, light foxing flaps), some edgewear. 43 pp. A wonderful classic children's picture story by Leslie Rees about a koala, Australia's favourite native animal, and how important it is to care for koalas. Two-Thumbs was named as koalas have opposable fingers so they can secure a better grip on high gum-tree branches, thus making up for the curious lack of a proper tail. Illustrated by Margaret Senior. (Originally published by John Sands, 1953. This copy: No date, about 1968, Trove. No ISBN in book. Decimal price 1.25 on jacket flap, thus later than 1966.).
