Title: The Twofold Life (A. J. Gordon, D.D.) Unique Feature: Introduction by Jack Taylor (public domain) Printer: Christian Litho, Inc. Zachary, LA Publisher: Dimensions in Christian Living, San Antonio, Texas No copyright. Description: A Timeless Blueprint for a Life of Service and Spirit For the woman at the heart of the parish, who balances the practical demands of ministry with a deep life of faith, A.J. Gordon's The Twofold Life is more than a classic—it is an essential field guide. This book speaks directly to the core of a service-driven life, exploring the two inseparable parts of a mature faith: the work Christ does for us (our salvation) and the work He does in us (our daily transformation). As a Navy veteran and a woman in long-term recovery, I was struck by how Gordon’s 19th-century wisdom perfectly articulates the modern challenge of integrating our inner healing with our outward mission. This book is a masterclass in: Finding Resilience in Faith: It provides a sturdy theological anchor for those days when the demands of service feel overwhelming, reminding us that our work flows from a place of grace, not just effort. Integrating the Spiritual and the Practical: Gordon offers a clear framework for connecting your personal spiritual growth to the daily tasks of administration, communication, and caring for a community. Preventing Burnout: By focusing on the internal work of sanctification, this book serves as a powerful tool for spiritual renewal, helping to sustain those who pour themselves out for others. This copy is offered by a fellow traveler on the path of service—a "Warrior Priest" published for my work with veterans in recovery, now curating books to support and connect with others. My hope is that this book finds a home with a church secretary who will see it not just as a text, but as a source of profound encouragement and a blueprint for a sustainable, grace-filled life of ministry. Catalogs for This Special Edition I love creating catalogs on AbeBooks that helps buyers discover my curated selections. Based on the themes of this book and my target audience, here are three impactful catalogs for this listing: Pastoral Theology & Ministry Resources: This catalog targets the professional aspect of a church secretary's role. It positions the book as a practical resource for ministry, leadership, and pastoral care, attracting those searching for tools to enhance their service. Christian Living & Spiritual Growth: This is a broader category that appeals to the personal faith journey. It frames the book as a guide for anyone seeking deeper spiritual maturity, personal transformation, and a more meaningful connection with God in their daily life. Classic Works on the Interior Life: This catalog creates a niche for timeless, contemplative literature. It presents The Twofold Life alongside other enduring works on prayer, reflection, and inner healing, appealing to discerning readers, collectors, and those looking for foundational spiritual texts.…

Store description
Welcome to a bookstore with heart and purpose. Designed especially for secretaries who rarely get the chance to browse thrift stores during the week. Whether you are a church secretary, office administrator, or faith-based school secretary, this space was created with your busy schedule and professional needs in mind. Locally, I sell directly to secretaries at their places of work. This is not just about convenience. It is about connection. By meeting secretaries where they are, I’m building a grassroots network of professionals who support one another, share resources, and find joy in discovering affordable, high-quality books without having to carve out time for weekend thrifting. These visits are more than transactions. They are opportunities to build relationships and foster a sense of community among those who often work behind the scenes but keep everything running smoothly. Online, my focus expands to church secretaries across the United States. Through my AbeBooks storefront, I offer a curated selection of books tailored to the unique needs and interests of church offices. Ranging from inspirational reads and administrative guides to thoughtful gifts and seasonal materials. By selling to businesses rather than individuals, I have found a safer, more structured way to interact and build trust. This approach allows me to grow a nationwide network of church secretaries who can connect, share ideas, and feel seen in their important roles. My mission is simple: to make book shopping easier, more meaningful, and more accessible for secretaries who deserve it most. Every book I list is chosen with care, and every sale is a step toward building a vibrant, supportive community of professionals who often go unrecognized. Thank you for visiting my store. I am honored to serve you. Excited to grow this network of dedicated secretaries, one book at a time. Contact Protocol: For clarity and efficiency, we require all first-time communication to be conducted through AbeBooks matrix. This ensures that both parties have a written record and can respond at their convenience. Phone calls may be scheduled once a business relationship is confirmed.…

We require pictures of the conditions after shipment to ensure that we are not at fault.
We gladly pay insurance in the shipping process because damage happens unintentionally.
The pictures are merely a paper trail for insurance claims. We are fairly adept at filing them.

However, please take the time to contact us prior to purchase to ensure this book is in the condition you want.
We'd rather communicate back and forth to ensure you as the buyer are completely satisfied BEFORE you make the order.
