Irwin Edman (1896-1954) was a philosopher and philosophy professor at Columbia University to which he was affiliated his entire adult life. William E. Woodward (wife, Helen) was a historian. Two typed letters: 1. dated New York, Sept. 24, 1924, addressed to Bill and Helen about his work in progress and about Bill's most recent review 'in the Sunday's Trib.' About 300 words., 2. Columbia University letterhead, dated December 12, 1928, addressed 'Dear Helen,' regarding Edman's latest book, dinner at Albert Boni's and promising to write Bill about Bill's latest book on Grant. About 140 words. With typed letter signed from Doris Harris Autographs re the two letters addressed to Doctor Speck, with mailing envelope addressed to Ann Speck.
