British-born, American author, Charles Joseph Finger (1867-1941) drew on the experiences of his colorful and adventurous life to produce many children's books, including the Newbury Prize winning, Tales from Silver Lands (1925). In addition to his 36 books, Finger was also a magazine writer/editor and founder of the magazine, "All's Well. He also wrote 30 volumes in the Little Blue Book Series, was editor of the Arkansas volume of the American Guide series of the Federal Writer's Project, and was managing editor of the Bellows-Reeve Company, which published the "Journeys Through Bookland" series.
