Tyranny on Trial

A remarkable accomplishment. Professor Harris, one of the lawyers who assisted the prosecution at Nuremberg by preparing and presenting the case against the Gestapo and the SS, has collected the mass of documents and testimony from those 1945-46 trials and reduced them into a single, concise volume. First published in the mid-50s by a university press, Barnes & Noble has reprinted this authoritative work which is also the basis of a History Channel special on the Nuremberg Trials. The book describes the types of offenses committed by Hitler and his followers, and finally, the trials and their outcome. Brilliantly documenting the horror of the war and its necessary transition from the moral to the legal plane, Harris has demonstrated man's attempt to elevate justice and law over inhumanity and offers hope for a better tomorrow.
