In the brutal post-apocalyptic town of Sovereign, Oregon, survival demands submission.

For five long years, Maeve Willis has protected her younger sister, Marielle, by enduring the ruthless control of Sovereign’s Director. When Maeve, Marielle, and three other survivors manage to escape, they find a glimmer of hope in the idyllic town of Ferndale, California.

In Ferndale, Maeve works to rebuild her life and rekindle an old love affair, but peace proves short-lived. The darkness of Sovereign—and the trauma Maeve fought to leave behind—follows her, igniting tensions that threaten not just her safety but Ferndale’s very existence.

As the full extent of Sovereign's atrocities becomes chillingly clear, Ferndale is drawn inexorably toward a heart-wrenching crossroads: the town must choose between launching a high-stakes intervention to free the trapped inhabitants of Sovereign or preserving their own hard-won peace.

Book Two: Sovereign serves as a natural starting point for the series, allowing readers to begin the story here and explore Book One: Founding later as a prologue. Alternatively, Book Two: Sovereign can be read as a continuation for those who have already read Book One: Founding.
