A missing show dog.
A desperate teenage girl.
A detective who'd rather be anywhere else.

When Palm Beach socialite Pixie Kazarian's prized Afghan Hound disappears days before a prestigious dog show, private investigator Miami Jones reluctantly takes the case. But what starts as a simple missing pet investigation quickly becomes complicated when two more dogs vanish without a trace.

As Miami digs deeper into the world of competitive dog shows, black market breeding, and the dark underbelly of South Florida's pet industry, he discovers that someone is willing to kill to keep their secrets buried. With help from his eclectic group of friends and a temporary teenage foster daughter who sees right through his defenses, Miami races to uncover the truth before more dogs disappear – or worse.

From the glittering mansions of Palm Beach to the seedy back alleys of West Palm Beach, Miami Jones must navigate a world where nothing is quite what it seems, and everyone has something to hide.
