The Importance of Loving the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is an extract taken from Qadi Iyad's renowned and celebrated work al-Shifa. This section is published in an easy to read bilingual format focused specifically on a single topic from al-Shifa. This volume focuses on the profound obligation of loving the Prophet ﷺ. Through carefully selected Qur'anic verses and hadiths, this book explores why love for Allah's Messenger ﷺ is not merely an emotional attachment, but also a foundational requirement for every believer, and show that true faith is incomplete without prioritizing the Prophet's ﷺ love over all worldly attachments, including family, wealth, and even one's own self.

The book delves deeply into the rewards and signs of loving the Prophet ﷺ. It recounts profound and moving stories from the lives of his Companions, such as ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb and Anas ibn Mālik, whose devotion and sacrifices highlight the exemplary love Muslims are encouraged to emulate. The volume further covers essential topics such as the rewards of this love, including the promise of being with the Prophet ﷺ in the Hereafter, and the traits of those who truly internalize this love.

As one of several curated extract volumes from Qadi Iyad's al-Shifa, this work offers readers a rich, accessible entry point into one of umma's most revered texts. Imam Ghazali Publishing ensures that this volume, like others in the series, is meticulously translated and designed to provide timeless wisdom to modern readers.

Al-Shifā bi Taʿrīf Ḥuqūq al-Muṣṭafā, directly translated as, 'The Remedy (or Cure) Through Recognizing the Rights of the Chosen One', is one of the most celebrated works in the genre of Shama'il. The Shifa deals with both the descriptions of the Prophet ﷺ, his station and his perfections, and with the rulings pertaining to one's belief and treatment of him ﷺ. It is exhaustive in its treatment of the subject, expounding on topics that range from Allah's praise of the Prophet ﷺ and his status and station before Him, to the obligation of loving him and what that entails. In short, the uniqueness of this work can be attributed to its holistic coverage of the Messenger ﷺ.
