"Some truths are more dangerous than lies. Some pasts refuse to stay buried."

In a land where history lingers like an open wound, passion burns as fiercely as betrayal.
"Each was ensnared in the web of his personal dark passions, tormented by truth he could not
reveal."
"The truth on Cyprus is often much more dangerous than lies." In the tangled history of a
divided island, shadows move in silence, and the past lingers like an open wound. "The only light
was a straight, thin line under the back door. So thin-like the blade of a killer's knife."
But not all battles are fought on bloodstained soil-some are waged in the heart.
Beneath the blinding Mediterranean sun and the weight of unspoken emotions, hearts
collide, unravel, and burn. In a world where "the wisdom of a man in love and the loyalty of a
woman defy common sense," passion is both a salvation and a crime and love is intoxicating, and
secrets are deadly.
When desire and deception collide, when history tightens its grip, and when the weight of
unspoken emotions threatens to break them all-will love save them, or destroy them first?
The past never dies. The truth is never safe. And in the end, only one question remains:
Can you return from the Known Dead?

The author is a retired United Nations Political Affairs Officer with nearly thirty years of experience in diplomatic and advisory positions at both UN headquarters and in the field.
As part of his work, he played a key role in UN efforts to address missing persons in post-conflict regions, particularly in the Balkans and Cyprus. These experiences left a lasting mark on him-not just as a diplomat, but as a human being. This novel was born from those moments, from the silence of pain, from the unanswered questions, and from the resilience of those who never gave up hope.
