ANTI TRANSHUMANISM: Adversus Transhumanismum (Introducing Parahumanism) 1st Edition

A bold philosophical critique of the transhumanist movement, Adversus Transhumanismum exposes how the promises of human enhancement, immortality, and post-biological evolution remain inaccessible to most-especially in developing nations where basic needs are still unmet.

Eduardo Delatorre Q. challenges the idea that technology will universally uplift the human condition. Instead, he reveals how such promises often reflect commercial ambition, economic privilege, and speculative ideology. Drawing on examples from brain-computer interfaces to AI-integrated implants, Delatorre argues that real "enhancement" remains subjective, costly, and rarely equitable.

As artificial intelligence becomes more humanized, human beings risk being devalued-stripped of dignity in favor of utility. In response, Delatorre introduces parahumanism: an ethical and philosophical alternative to the unchecked advance of techno-idealism.

Essential reading for scientists, ethicists, scholars, and reflective readers, this book demands we reconsider what progress truly means-and for whom it is being designed.
