Hey, you! Yeah, you looking this book over! It’s me, comedian Josh Blue. Something To Stare At is my first book, and it’s all about my life: From my harrowing birth and subsequent emergency flight out of Africa, to sharing a zoo cage with a silverback gorilla, to traveling the world as a Paralympian on the U.S. soccer team, my journey has been as unpredictable as my right arm.
We’ll also saunter through my comedy career, from its humble start to performing on the world’s biggest stand-up stage, as well as my lifelong challenge of overcoming others’ preconceived ideas of disabled people—for those of you who need your inspiration porn.

Following his groundbreaking win on NBC's Last Comic Standing in 2006, Josh Blue has become one of America's top touring comedians and performs over 200 shows a year, spreading laughter and smashing stereotypes of people with disabilities. Josh represented the U.S. as a member of the Paralympic soccer team. An accomplished painter and sculptor, he holds solo and group exhibitions. Josh lives in Denver, Colorado, with his patient partner Mercy, his clever kids Simon and Seika, and even more clever cats, Remy and Arlo.
