When Ruby decides to build a fort, she's full of ideas -- but doesn't know where to start. With pillows, blankets, tape, and imagination, she learns how to break a big idea into smaller steps and turn a messy pile into something amazing.

Ruby Breaks It Down is a playful, story-driven introduction to computational thinking -- specifically, decomposition, the problem-solving strategy of breaking complex tasks into simpler parts. As Ruby works through her project with creativity and persistence, young readers learn to approach challenges with confidence and curiosity.

Perfect for ages 5-8, this picture book blends engaging storytelling with early STEM thinking skills in a way that's easy to understand and fun to read aloud. Educators and parents will love the subtle tie-in to computational thinking, while kids will relate to Ruby's inventive spirit and everyday problem-solving

Ideal for classrooms, libraries, and families, Ruby Breaks It Down builds foundational skills for learning, thinking, and creating-one small step at a time.
