A year after the end to the livestock rustling in western Wyoming, a different problem faces the stockmen. Someone is deliberately killing entire herds of livestock indiscriminately and doing it with high powered rifles. The killers are leaving little or no trace of their identity. The crime makes no sense. Rifle ammunition is not cheap, and the bodies of the dead livestock have been left on the winter desert floor for scavengers. The killers have focused on sheep and cattle wintering on the Red Desert in southwestern Wyoming.
When Big Dave Olson’s family and ranch are threatened, he has had enough. He seeks the identity of the person behind the senseless killings, and he also wants justice.
