What happens when one hundred of the genre’s brightest luminaries sit down for the most candid and revealing interviews of their careers? You wind up with Icons of Fright: 100 Interviews with Legendary Horror Filmmakers! Conducted over two decades and spanning seventy-five years of film, these interviews offer a unique and often raw insight into the classic horror films of yesteryear and today (and some not-so-classics). From the Universal Monsters to modern meta, there’s something here for every horror fan to sink their fangs into.

Featuring an introduction by writer/director Neil Marshall (The Descent, Dog Soldiers, Hellboy), the book contains a slew of never before seen interviews. These include new discussions with Parker Finn (Smile), Jon Watts (Final Destination: Bloodlines) and Danny Philippou (Talk to Me) along with several “lost” interviews with Tom Holland (Fright Night), Katt Shea (The Rage: Carrie 2) and David J. Schow (The Crow).

“It’s like having a fun, long dinner with old friends,” says Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. “Insights, love of storytelling, and a lot of gossip and inside jokes!” Legendary horror host Svengoolie adds, “I have never seen such a huge compilation of incredible insights of artists from all aspects of horror film production, covering so many eras. This one belongs in every horror fan’s library.”
