You don’t need another dog book.

You need the truth before you pick the wrong one.

Most people choose a dog based on looks, trends, or bad advice… then act surprised when that “perfect breed” turns their life upside down.

That’s not a bad dog.

That’s a bad match.

And the dog is usually the one that pays for it.

Inside this book, you’ll find over 280 dog breed profiles with the real-world truth about what you’re bringing home:

• Energy levels that don’t fit your schedule

• Temperaments that don’t match your household

• Exercise needs most people underestimate

• Grooming and maintenance nobody talks about

• The kind of behavior that shows up when a breed is in the wrong home

No sugarcoating. No kennel-club fluff. No “every dog is perfect for families” nonsense.

Just reality.

If you’re serious about getting the right dog for your life, read this before you commit.

If you’re not… you’ll probably end up learning the hard way.

Zero Woofs Given was born out of one sarcastic human's lifelong gripe with the sugarcoated nonsense in dog books. Founded by Shannon, a snarky, lifelong dog devotee and proud Rottweiler mom to Rowan and Rip, has spent 20+ years knee-deep in fur, mud, training sessions, and vet clinic exam rooms, surviving the kind of chaos only a determined canine can create. From rescue work to breed-specific research, she's seen the best, worst, and most unhinged sides of dog ownership and lived to write about it.Shannon's mission is blunt: when people pick the wrong dog, the dog pays the price. They end up in shelters for being exactly what they were bred to be-while humans fail them. Her guides exist to stop that cycle.Zero Woofs Given Press exists for one reason: to torch the sugarcoated garbage. These books won't tell you every dog "loves kids" or "thrives in apartments." They'll tell you the messy, hilarious, heartbreaking truth-so you know what you're getting into before your shoes, furniture, and sanity are destroyed. When not writing, she's wrangling her own four-legged disasters, dodging drool, and questioning life choices while still believing there's no better companion than a dog with a heartbeat and zero manners.
