At the edge of the Durham hills, where the Tanfield tracks vanish into fog and soot, the old tithe is still taken.

When the body of a railway worker is found at Andrews House Station, his pockets filled with coal dust and coins blackened by age, few dare speak of what really happened. Fewer still remember the story of the offering left on the tracks each winter's eve - a payment for safe passage, and for silence.

Drawn back to the line he once swore to forget, Thomas Ellard finds himself haunted by echoes in the engine sheds and whispers beneath the viaduct arches. As snow begins to fall and the lamplight burns low, he must uncover what debt the railway demands - and what price it will take next.

The Tithe at Tanfield is a dark Northumberland ghost story, rich with railway lore, superstition, and the lingering smoke of the industrial past - a tale for those who listen to the rails when the night grows still.
