A journalist in search of the truth. A professor with a deadly secret. A love that defies reason and morality.

Sloane Keenan has built a career on exposing the truth, and after a year-long hiatus following the murder of her father, she's decided to jump back into her career headfirst. Hollowcrest is home to alternative rock's hottest new masked band, Reverb, and Sloane is handed the story of a lifetime to uncover the truth behind the massive cult-like following. Reverb's music is hiding a frequency capable of bending minds, and she's certain that Vantros is at the center of it.

Haunted by her father's unsolved murder and caught in the web of Van's alluring presence, Sloane decides to turn to a psychology professor for help. Riven Reilly is a safe space for Sloane, a sounding board for all of her theories on the secrets behind Reverb. Riven Reilly isn't only a psychology professor, but a vigilante by night who's harboring a secret powerful enough to destroy them both. Torn between two men who couldn't be more opposite, Sloane finds herself spiraling into a world of deception, desire, and dangerous truths.

When love becomes the most dangerous illusion of all, Sloane must decide whether the truth is worth exposing.
