“Don’t give this book to a child for them to read. Share it with them.”

The Secret Wood is a deliberate return to the era of books written expressly for adults and older siblings to read aloud to the young. Because stories are meant to be shared.

The Wood isn’t like our world. The very landscape itself can change from one day to the next—cliffs, creeks, and waterfalls are all elusive; even mountains can come and go. When 8-year-old Peter is magically transported there through a picture in a book, he befriends quirky creatures, brave birds, and a clever Elf girl in a series of adventures that are the stuff of dreams. The hunt for a monster. A romp above the clouds. Daring rescues amid a giant flood. A treasure hunt with a twist. And lots more. With a generous supply of thrills, frights, and wonders, children will follow along as Peter and his companions learn about true friendship and real courage.
