Ubuntu 26.04 System Administration Handbook: Master Linux Management, Networking, Security, Automation and Server Operations
Ubuntu has become one of the most trusted Linux platforms for modern computing, powering everything from personal workstations and enterprise servers to cloud infrastructure, containers, and mission-critical applications. Whether you're an aspiring Linux administrator, a DevOps engineer, a cloud professional, a developer, or an IT specialist, mastering Ubuntu administration is a valuable skill that can open doors across today's technology landscape.
Ubuntu 26.04 System Administration Handbook is a practical and comprehensive guide designed to help you confidently install, manage, secure, automate, and troubleshoot Ubuntu systems in real-world environments. Rather than simply teaching commands, this book explains the concepts, tools, and administrative practices that experienced professionals use to maintain reliable and secure Linux infrastructure.
Starting with the fundamentals of Ubuntu and Linux administration, you'll learn how to manage users, groups, permissions, software packages, services, storage systems, networking components, and security controls. As your skills grow, you'll explore server administration, virtualization, containers, cloud deployments, automation, monitoring, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and production operations.
Inside this book, you will learn how to:
- Install, configure, and maintain Ubuntu 26.04 LTS systems
- Manage users, groups, permissions, and access control
- Work efficiently with the Linux command line and shell environment
- Administer software packages, repositories, and updates
- Configure networking, DNS, routing, and connectivity services
- Secure Ubuntu systems using industry best practices
- Deploy and manage Ubuntu servers in production environments
- Monitor performance, analyze logs, and troubleshoot system issues
- Configure web servers, databases, and application services
- Work with Docker, LXD, KVM virtualization, and cloud platforms
- Automate administrative tasks with Bash, Cron, Systemd, and Ansible
- Implement backup, recovery, and operational maintenance strategies
- Build stable, secure, and scalable Linux infrastructures
Throughout the book, you'll find practical examples, administrative workflows, command references, troubleshooting guidance, and real-world scenarios that help transform theoretical knowledge into hands-on skills. Whether you're managing a single Ubuntu machine or supporting enterprise-scale infrastructure, this handbook provides the knowledge and confidence needed to operate Ubuntu professionally and efficiently.
If you're ready to master Ubuntu 26.04 and develop the Linux administration skills that modern organizations demand, this book will serve as your trusted guide from beginner to professional-level system administration.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
