Timothy Good first became interested in UFOs in 1955, when his passion for aviation and space led him to read a book by Major Donald Keyhoe which detailed sightings by highly qualified observers such as military and civilian pilots. Now regarded as a top authority, he has travelled worldwide interviewing key witnesses and amassing a wealth of evidence, including several thousand declassified intelligence documents.
Timothy Good has lectured on his subject since 1967, at universities, schools, and to many organizations, including the Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences, the House of Lords All-Party UFO Study Group, and the Oxford and Cambridge Union Societies. He has been interviewed on numerous television and radio programmes throughout the world, and in 1989 became the first ufologist from the West to be interviewed on Soviet television. His book Above Top Secret, considered by many to be among the finest ever written on the subject, went to the top of the best-seller lists in Britain and Australia in 1987, and has since been published in the USA, Canada, Germany and Japan, with a Russian edition due in 1991.
Timothy Good has been a professional musician since 1963. He played with the London Symphony Orchestra between 1964 and 1978, and since 1976 has been involved in freelance session work for television, films and backing for pop musicians. His hobbies include photography, and he has three record sleeve photos to his credit, for CBS and RCA.
