David Richey has been the outdoor writer-photographer for The Detroit News for twenty years. He has written twenty books on fishing and hunting, edited many others, and has published numerous articles. He has guided bear and deer hunters, spent ten years as a fishing guide, and is an expert farmland whitetail deer hunter. He lives in northern Michigan.
