8vo. [iv], 258, [8] pp. Index; some minor stains. Green blind- and gilt-stamped cloth; stained covers. Generally very good. This work is arranged in three parts. I: 'The healing properties of natural and artificial sunlight', using ultra-violet rays as a therapy. Those therapies included obesity, blood-pressure, gall-stones, Grave's Disease, symptoms of old age, etc. II: The treatment of falling hair b the ultra-violet rays. III: The treatment by the quartz light of graying hair. / Lorand was a physician to the spa at Carlsbad, Austria-Hungary during the early 20th century. He was also a longevity researcher who has been described as a pioneer of modern geriatric medicine.
