Uncertain Outcomes (Paperback)

New to the thorny world of business, a young woman discovers that her decisions have international consequences in Tom Williams's riveting novel, Uncertain Outcomes.

Newly minted MBA Claire Perkins considers herself lucky to land a job at the Manhattan headquarters of a large corporation. The learning curve is steep, however, and she soon finds herself collecting information that could determine whether or not the company’s Alabama plant moves overseas.

A trip to China to investigate the potential site leads Claire to a astounding discovery: the Chinese government, interested in gaining the military technology assembled at the Alabama plant, has covert operatives in position to steal it.

When Claire's own boss inadvertently aids the Chinese in their quest, coupled with a new US National Security Council policy regarding China that has a dramatic effect on business, it seems as though the company may be doomed.

Through it all, Claire learns that her strategies to get ahead no longer work in the modern business world. Instead she'll have to learn to become a team player if she's going to make it.

Tom Williams graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BA before going on to earn both his JD and MBA degrees. An infantry platoon leader in the 4th Infantry Division, he has also worked as a loan officer, tax lawyer, foreign tax manager, and international business adjunct professor.
