Uncle Rocky, Fireman #9 Helping Out

Uncle Rocky, Fireman #9 – "Helping Out!"

The firehouse is buzzing with plans for the Annual Crab Picking Festival when a fire alarm cuts the meeting short. When Bob, Big Joe, and Uncle Rocky return, they find a family's home completely gutted and the family left with nothing. No clothing, no furniture, nowhere to turn. The firefighters decide to transform their festival into a community clothing and furniture drive. But young Ben voices the question everyone is thinking: "Do you think people will help them out?"

Based on a real event carried out by the Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Department and EMS of Charles County, Maryland in the summer of 2017, this touching story shows children that being a hero does not stop when the fire is out. Dedicated to first responders everywhere who sacrifice their personal time to serve and protect their communities.

Uncle Rocky, Fireman is part of the Glad to Do It! collection of children's picture books, perfect for kids ages 4–8. The collection follows the adventures of firefighter Uncle Rocky, police officers Jack and Kate, and EMT Morales as they fight fires, stop crime, rescue people, and lift up their neighbors. Every book ends with the beloved catchphrase children love to say along: "Glad to do it!"
