Under the Helmet

Under the Helmet is a raw and reflective exploration of life seen through the eyes of a rider searching for clarity, purpose, and balance. Drawing on personal experiences both on and off the motorcycle, Stephen “Spitty” Spiteri examines resilience, identity, masculinity, and mental wellbeing with honesty and humility. The ride becomes a metaphor for life itself — unpredictable, demanding, and deeply revealing — where solitude creates space for reflection and growth. Rather than offering expert advice or easy answers, this book shares lessons learned through setbacks, self-doubt, small victories, and the ongoing process of becoming better than yesterday. Motorcycles are not just machines here; they are catalysts for perspective, discipline, and presence. Thoughtful without being “preachy”, and grounded in lived experience, Under the Helmet speaks to anyone who has ever wrestled with who they are and who they want to become. It is a reminder that sometimes the most important journeys happen internally, long after the helmet comes off.
