When I began writing the Humanity Trilogy, I wanted to explore one fundamental question: Is human nature inherently good or evil?

I am fascinated by characters who make the wrong choices—not because they are bad, but because life is messy. Morality is rarely black and white, and love can be as destructive as it is redemptive.

Katariina is a woman who constantly faces uncomfortable truths. She has a habit of getting entangled in situations where she must decide whether she dares to see things as they truly are—and whether she can handle the consequences.

Ebrima’s story, on the other hand, reflects the power of faith. What makes a person hold on when all hope is lost? He could become bitter, but instead, he chooses a different path.
