London: Academy Editions, 1970. XIII, 77 pp. 29 x 22 cm. Red-orange cloth covered boards with gitl tiling to spine; illustrations on multicolored construction (sugar) paper. Some rubbing and soil to spine, with a small 11 mm split to tail of front joint. Some rubbing and scuffing to boards, with some very light wear to bottom of boards. Some light dampstaining to upper corners of rear board. Yellow price label over publisher's printed price on bottom corner of recto of copyright page. Some mild age toning to extremities of pages, with some light dampstaining to upper corner (at gutter) of the final five pages. Interior otherwise clean and unmarked. Binding sound. First edition, inscribed by La Rue "To John with, many thanks for, his help, Michel", and again "For John, from, Michel". Psychedelic images recreated from posters, the magazines International Times, Oz, and Gandalf's Garden, and other sources. This book was the first publication by Academy Editions, there were two printings, and the total of both runs was between seven and eight thousand. A page in the back of the second impression has quotes from reviews. Keen was art editor for Oz at the time of the famous obscenity trial. La Rue's day job was working in the Architects Department of the GLC, where he shared an office with John Bunney, to whom this copy is inscribed. Quarto. Full page illustrations throughout on coloured paper by Michael English, Martin Sharp, Paul Kitchin, Mal Dean and others Original illustrated laminated wrappers, lettering to front cover in white, and to spine in black.
