A practical, supportive, and easy-to-read guide to help you understand and manage ADHD, filled with helpful tips and actionable advice
Feeling overwhelmed? This little book is here to help.
How to Understand and Deal with ADHD is a friendly, accessible guide with all the information and advice you need to identify where you struggle, manage your symptoms, and even take advantage of your ADHD superpowers. By learning the science behind ADHD and understanding how it affects your mind and body, you’ll come to understand that it’s just another way of existing in the world―one that has both advantages and disadvantages. And by offering practical ways to cope with its challenges―including physical, medical, and therapeutic options―this book will help you support your mental health, reach your goals, and improve your overall well-being.
After reading, you will:
- Understand the science behind ADHD, what’s going on in your brain, how it shows up in everyday life, and what makes your symptoms worse.
- Be armed with practical steps you can take to work with your neurodivergent brain, from dopamine hacks and healthy lifestyle choices to co-regulation and other coping mechanisms.
- Have a host of holistic strategies up your sleeve for countering inattention or hyperactivity, such as list-making, reframing, and taking movement breaks.
- Know about the medical treatments and therapies available, and know how and when to seek professional help or support.
With the right knowledge and guidance, you can learn to manage ADHD by working with your brain, not against it.
