Synopsis:

Interest in atmospheric science is a pervasive and continuing human attitude. The old saying "Everybody talks about the weather..." is a truism that originates from this interest. The extension of our observational resources to higher and higher altitudes via rockets and satellites and the increasing heights at which commercial airlines are operated have added a third dimension to the interest. This book is intended for students who are majoring in other subjects that physical science. Although it contains mathematics at a level usually required for admission to college, for most of the concepts it is not necessary to follow mathematics.
