The world economy is a dynamic process that balances competing interests: those who supply goods and services and those who buy them. Dr. Thomas Cunningham identifies this process as The Equilibrium Principle: a continuous, ubiquitous state that invades, guides, and shapes all economies--national, local, and personal. Understanding Economic Equilibrium will help readers understand the integration of the world's economies and how they affect and are affected by it. The book clarifies complicated economic issues and events, using examples and plain language to provide the knowledge and understanding readers need to improve their personal and business finances. Fact-based and rooted in fundamental economic and historical realities, the book:Refers to current events, although the principle of equilibrium endures through periods, administrations, and trendsEnlightens readers on getting and spending, but also on how they are connected with and dependent on the rest of the worldReveals counterintuitive realitiesWhy full employment creates economic problems Why the stock market is volatile when business is good and corporations are profitableHow the COVID-19 pandemic changed how the world's economies operate and interact.People are preoccupied with their own finances, personal, and for entrepreneurs, the businesses they have created and are operating. Understanding Economic Equilibrium will clarify these relationships at a time when a shrinking and increasingly tumultuous world makes understanding them essential.…

Economic agents all over the world are trying to maximize their returns given their efforts, resources, and opportunities. They come together in markets that ultimately allocate goods and services among many competing interests. We can readily see how individual markets behave; it’s more difficult, but exponentially more important, to recognize the general equilibrium across all markets. Disturbances in one market have implications for others.
These interrelationships are particularly important to understand when policy changes are being considered where actions in one market will impose changes on other markets, and not always in obvious or pleasant ways. Understanding Economic Equilibrium reveals how all markets fit together, and how we as individuals fit into that bigger picture.
