Add to basketThis book provides a unique approach to understand the Nuclear Physics, especially from the experimental end. The highlight of this book is that special care has been taken to provide more experimental information, considering real experimental data which has been published in several journals. Special experimental focus is given to methodologies involving: offline gamma counting and online particle detection. The book provides information about recent developments in accelerators, overview of the detectors and concise information of associated electronics, data acquisition systems and computers for data analysis.
Dr. Nikit N. Deshmukh is presently working as an Associate Professor, School of Sciences, P P Savani University, Kosamba, Surat, India. He obtained his M.Sc. (2008) in Pure Science with specialization in the field of Nuclear Physics and Ph.D. (2012) in Physics in the field of experimental nuclear physics investigating nuclear reactions from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, India. He performed experiments at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, India and Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi using the Pelletron Accelerator. After completion of his Ph.D., he completed his postdocs from 1) University of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, Brazil, 2) INFN-LNS, Catania, Italy and 3) Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata, India. He conducted studies in the field of nuclear reactions involving elastic scattering studies near the Coulomb barrier energy regime, production & development of new radioactive ion beams and studying the double charge exchange reactions under the NUMEN project; aiming to observe Neutrinoless double beta decay. He performed theoretical studies in investigating the overall effect of all the reaction mechanisms on the total reaction cross section.
Dr. Niravkumar J. Joshi is a physicist, having completed his PhD at the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India. Formerly a researcher from the Institute of Physics of São Carlos, University of São Paulo now at University of Barcelona, Spain is a Marie-Curie experienced researcher (TecnioSPRING). His present research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of oxide nanostructures and 2D material-based gas sensors.
