Add to basketA book aimed especially at the young reader, showing how to build up and maintain a special relationship with a pony. The author shows how to understand a pony's natural likes and dislikes, fears and habits, as well as explaining a pony's view of the world and our view of the pony. She goes on to interpret the meaning of specific signals and expressions that ponies show such as ear and tail movements, facial expressions and body posture. She explains how to tell whether the pony is afraid, angry or even ill, with the use of actual examples. However, it is not just the pony that gives signals, so do we. She examines these signals we give to ponies together with a study of those areas in which a pony's perception is superior to that of humans - their sense of smell, hearing and sensitivity to body language. Finally the author examines the way we ride and handle our ponies and assesses why some techniques and approaches may work better than others. The book has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged.
