Understanding Sport Organizations is the first book to look at sport organizations through the lens of organization theory and business management.
Weaving together the research, ideas, and real-life examples that shape organization studies, author Trevor Slack offers an in-depth text that will help students and practitioners understand the structures and processes of sport organizations.
Slack summarizes the vast body of research from management studies, explaining basic concepts and theoretical approaches and their applications to sport. To bring these concepts to life, Slack provides numerous examples and case studies from a variety of sport contexts--from Nike and Cannondale to the Calgary Olympics and Division I teams.
