The Unexpected Enlightenment of Rachel Griffin (Paperback or Softback)

SUPERNATURAL meets Narnia at Hogwarts."

On her first day at Roanoke Academy for the Sorcerous Arts, thirteen-year-old Rachel Griffin uses the secret gift she inherited from her mother to venture into a forest where she finds a statue of a winged woman. Nowhere in the books or legends of her world is there any mention of a woman with wings.

When she goes back, the wings are gone. Not vandalized. Gone as if they had never been there. Where the wings had been, moss is growing on the statue’s back.

Rachel came to school to study, learn, and perhaps make a few good friends. But now she's opened a door to something much vaster, and she cannot bear to close it until she learns the truth: Who removed the statue’s wings? What are they trying to hide?

And when her secret gift accidentally allows her to glimpse the Raven that is the Omen of the Doom of Worlds when it did not intend to be seen…does that count as a bad omen?

The Unexpected Enlightenment of Rachel Griffin is a tale of wonder and danger, romance and heartbreak, and, most of all, of a girl who refuses to be daunted.
