Unexpected: A Novel of Change and Friendship (Paperback or Softback)

There are certain things associated with being “middle-aged.” Like preparing for an empty nest,
achieving higher levels of success in your career, and long-standing friendships. Lonnie is a
typical woman at this stage of life, married with two sons, climbing the ladder at her job, living
life the way it’s supposed to go. Until life doesn’t go the way it’s supposed to. Her career
aspirations become threatened when she learns she is going to be a new mom. Again. And
honestly, at this stage in life, she’d prefer career promotion over pregnancy. Her briefcase over a
diaper bag.

This unforeseen detour crosses her path with unlikely friends and unintended foes. A woman
who had it all under control is now plagued with anxiety, insecurity, and run-ins with the law.
Insults to her character and body will forever change her. As if normal aging weren’t’ enough to
deal with, she must rethink what it is to be a career woman, a mother, and a friend. Where the
path ends is . . . Unexpected.
