Synopsis:

What does it mean to live fully united with God?

In this timeless Christian classic, Jeanne Guyon leads readers on a deeply reflective journey into the inward life-tracing the soul's path from conversion to spiritual transformation and union with Christ.

Written as both spiritual guide and testimony, Union with God presents a carefully unfolding vision of Christian growth grounded in faith, surrender, and inward devotion. Guyon describes the believer's progression through stages of spiritual development-moving from outward effort toward quiet trust, from striving toward abandonment, and from self-reliance toward divine life. Rather than offering formulas, the book invites readers into a deeper awareness of God's presence within and calls them toward a life shaped by grace rather than effort.

In this book, readers will discover:

- A clear exploration of the inward spiritual life

- Insight into the role of faith, surrender, and suffering in growth

- Guidance for navigating dryness, struggle, and spiritual testing

- A historic Christian perspective on union with God

- Encouragement for pursuing lasting transformation in Christ

Guyon's message remains profoundly relevant for modern readers seeking depth beyond surface Christianity. Her words offer both challenge and comfort to those longing for a deeper walk with God.

For readers of Brother Lawrence, Fénelon, and classic Christian devotional literature, Union with God is a rich and enduring resource for spiritual formation and renewal.

About the Author: Jeanne Guyon was born in south-central France in the mid-1600s. Her writings and her ministry knew a brief period of popularity, making her a friend even of the wife of Louis XIV. She greatly influenced the life of Fenelon, one of the two most famous clergymen in France's history and she earned the wrath of the other, Bosuet. The conflict between these two giants over her teachings led to her disgrace in the king's court and then her imprisonment. Three hundred years later she is still one of the most influential people in the lives of those who seek a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
