A very scarce pamphlet being the notes from the twenty-sixth annual meeting of the United Service Institution. Founded as the Naval and Military Museum in 1831 by the Duke of Wellington, this museum was established as a collection for objects of art, science and natural history. It was renamed the United Service Institution in 1839, and located at Whitehall. It has continued to exist in the twenty-first century.Describing the additions to the library and museum during the year 1856, with the donors' names.With a contemporary inscription reading, 'The Garrison Library, from Mitford'.A library stamp from Malta Garrison Library to the title page. In the original paper wraps. Externally very smart, with just a little age-toning and wear. Inscription and ex library stamp to the title page. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are a little age-toned.
