AJS: Captain George Smith compiled the first comprehensive military dictionary to be printed in English while he was Ispector of the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich. In 336 pages of text and 16 plates; with numerous folding tables and charts, he produced the most important 18th century book on terminology that exists today. This fine reprint is in an edition of 700 numbered copies, this being No 477.
