1st edition hardback, published c1914, bound in blue cloth with gilt lettering on the front board and spine. In very good condition, ends of spine and corners lightly bumped and slightly worn, page edges spotted, pencil inscriptions, including owner’s name, on front endpapers, otherwise very bright, tight and clean. 361pp including a preface and comprehensive index, illustrated with 60 black and white photographs and a colour frontispiece, protected with a tissue guard, all taken by the author, the late Travel Editor of ‘The African World’.
