Unwilling or Unable to Report the Truth

"While the 60-plus years that have since passed do not make for fertile investigative ground, there are always benefits to be found in taking a step back and reexamining something of this scale and magnitude - because, in the end, President Kennedy's assassination was a monumental event. It was monumental for America and the world at large, sending shockwaves throughout governments, cultures, and the global news services." (from the Introduction)

November 22, 1963, is a date that lives in infamy. The assassination of President John F. Kennedy is a major historical event, a defining moment of the 1960s, and a point of contention for many, even today. While it is beyond doubt that Lee Harvey Oswald was innocent, one would not get that impression from the legacy that has been written about him.

Revisiting the subject through a unique lens, "Unwilling or Unable to Report the Truth" is not a comprehensive reinvestigation into the matter, but an analysis of how journalism has approached - and impacted - our understanding of the assassination.

The fourth estate has looked at the assassination for more than 60 years. It is now time to look at the fourth estate.
