By George Gale and printed in Chicago by Clarke and Company. 1867, 460 pp, 7.5 x 5.25 , 8vo, hardcover cloth binding. In as-is condition, with rubbing and wear to boards and spine, primarily along edges. Wear to hinges towards front of book. Text block splitting, with some sections of pages detached. Ex-library from the Newark, NJ public library, with bookplates, stamps, stickers, and inscriptions throughout. Includes occasional black-and-white illustrations. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce work on the area surrounding the Upper Mississippi River by George Gale (1816-1868), a Wisconsin politician and judge. A wonderful candidate for restoration.
