On March 11, 1966, the Upsilon Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi in Newark, New Jersey, launched its first annual Mardi Gras, an event captured in this modest broadside. Founded in 1911, Omega Psi Phi fostered Black leadership, service, and community engagement, with local chapters like Upsilon Phi advancing this mission through public events.
