Urban Environmental Changes: Sustainable and Management Solution ? A case study from South Chennai, India

An understanding of modification of land use and land cover pattern in urban agglomeration which plays important role in environmental changes. This book motivates to study about urban environmental geochemistry. This author profoundly discussed about remote sensing and GIS study and significant relationships between the green-cover change and the environmental performance change of the study area. Also the study provides comprehensive research in integrating geomorphic and hydrogeochemical data from a range of spatial scales to better understand how the interactions of these factors affect groundwater systems and socio economic integrity of study area. This book gives clear picture about spatial distribution, quality and quantitative assessment of trace elements and major ions using various techniques like Wilcox diagram, Kelley’s ratio, SAR and USSL diagram. Dr.M.Arunprakash is a Sr.Project Manager, Software Development in Zylog Systems Ltd,India. He graduated in Civil and specialization in Urban Engineering from Anna University. His research of interest is Environmental Studies and obtained his PhD from University of Madras as inter disciplinary to explore environmental changes in urban area.
