The Use Of Sarum: The Sarum Customs As Set Forth In The Consuetudinary And Customary (1898)

The Use of Sarum is a book written by Walter Howard Frere in 1898 that explores the Sarum customs, as set forth in the Consuetudinary and Customary. The Sarum Rite, a liturgical rite used in England prior to the Reformation, was known for its rich and complex rituals, and this book delves into the details of these customs. Frere provides a thorough examination of the Sarum Rite, including its origins, history, and liturgical practices. He also discusses the role of the Consuetudinary and Customary in shaping the Sarum Rite, and how these texts were used to guide the celebration of the liturgy. This book is a valuable resource for those interested in liturgical history and the development of Christian worship practices in England. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
