Rebacked with spine laid down.Featuring 25 beautiful colour plates, with plate 14 bound as the frontispiece. Collated, complete. Illustrated by prominent botanical artist, John Edward Sowerby.Resourceful and detailled exploration of various British vegetables and plants and their uses for food, medicine and more. From botanist and editor, Charles Pierpoint Johnson, best known for British Wildflowers (1876). In decorative green cloth binding. Rebacked with spine laid down. Externally, with slight rubbing to spine tips, minor loss of cloth and staining to both boards. Internally, binding to frontispiece delicate, otherwise firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, featuring light spotting, heavier to front and rear. Good.
