Dark brown beveled-edge cloth with decorated gilt lettering to fr. and gilt sp. lettering, no obvious faults, remarkably for age. Light orange floral end-papers, xiv + 364 + (6, Baker & Taylor list), 6 engraved numbered 'Plates' (not all full p.) and a number of small text figures; no significant faults. PP. 246 to end are 'Selections' from numerous authors both in verse and prose, others occur in main text.1st pub. 1886, with a 4th in 1890, this billed as 5th on t.p. but suspect it may be a 2nd. imp. of 4th. 13 cm x 19 cm.
