In-12. Two vols, uniformly bound, Vol. 1: (25), 301, pp, with engraved pictorial title by Jean Wolters 1689, one folding map and fifty six woodcut engraved full pages. Vol. 2: (1), 607, pp, with three foldings and thirty two woodcut engraveds full pages. Bindings in full calf, spine richly gilt with five raised bands, marbled endpapers, good condition and nice set. This trip, made in the years 1675 and 1676, was well known in the past, and focuses on the study of the traces of antiquity: epigraphy, architecture, glyptics and numismatics. Illustrations reflect these aspects. These trips also have the advantage of having been written at a time when some ruins were still in a better state than afterwards.
