Facsimile edition of the 1814 original, No. 37 in the Australiana Facsimile Editions series. Volume I: (IV), X, (X), CCIV, 269 PP, plus 4 b/w plates. Volume II: (IV), 613 PP, plus 5 b/w plates. Atlas (in a cloth-covered clam box) with 18 b/w folded plates [charts (plate XV, in 3 folded parts) and coastal views] and 10 b/w folded plates of selected plants from different parts of Terra Australis. Cloth covers, gilt titles on vignettes on the spines. More images available upon request. Faint foxing spots on the covers and outside edges of the volumes, o/wise a near fine set. Scarce. This is a heavy item and postage will be higher than usual. Please ask for a quote. 35 x 28. A voyage to Terra Australis undertaken for the purpose of completing the discovery of that vast country, and prosecuted in the years 1801, 1802, and 1803, in His Majesty's Ship the Investigator, and subsequently in the armed vessel Porpoise and Cumberland schooner. Full covers with "Oyster Book Cloth", renewed endpapers, and original labels pasted down on spine. Slight ageing of paper, and old water marks on outside edges of Volumes 1 & 2. Complete.
