In good condition. Ex-library of the Sondley Reference Library of Asheville, North Carolina. Old hand signature on all three paste downs dated 1831. Library plaques on front paste downs. Boards are typically worn with light scuffing, edge wear. Manuscript call numbers at base of spines. Spines remain lustrous and bright. free of chipping. Marbled boards have faded and are slightly scuffed. Light toning to boards. Slight dryness along hinges and corners. Interiors are lightly toned with minor foxing throughout. Bindings are tight and intact. Free of known marginalia. A solid set! Please see photos. Second edition in three volumes. The Fair Maid of Perth (or St. Valentine's Day) is an 1828 novel by Sir Walter Scott, one of the Waverly novels. Inspired by the strange, but historically true, story of the Battle of the North Inch it is set in Perth (known at the time as Saint John's Toun, i.e. John's Town) and other parts of Scotland around 1400.
