The Vampire and the Scorpion

How was I meant to know I was dancing with a vampire’s familiar?

My name is Ava Monroe, failing student at Kinwich University, and what started as a scheme to make my ex jealous has turned into a nightmare.

After stumbling upon a secret coven of vampires, werewolves, witches, and shapeshifters, I’m given two weeks to prove I’m worthy of becoming a vampire’s familiar—by learning to harvest human blood. If I fail, the coven’s tyrannical leader will make sure my death is slow and excruciating. He’ll do anything to keep their existence secret.

As if my life wasn’t complicated enough, I’m also distracted by impure thoughts about my mentor—a tall, brooding vampire with long legs and a backside that makes me tingle in the most inconvenient places.

Can I pass my trial before I lose my life—or worse, my humanity?
